I'm back!

I'm back. I'm waiting for my results for the first part of my foundation degree in early years. I finished the course at the end of May and now have time for a little bit of crafting before I start again in September.

I shall be getting my stash out again and making a few cards to show on here in the near future. I plan on entering a few challenges over the summer too.

Hopefully back soon with some photos.

It is with a heavy heart that I have resigned from my DT positions. Real life is taking over and between work, family and studying for a Foundation Degree in Early Years I have little or no time for crafting at the moment.

I have a card to share today. It is my DT card for the third challenge over at Let's Ink It Up which is to use your favourite rubber or clear stamp but you must include a charm.

I have used my favourite Princess Tilda stamp which I coloured with my Copics. The paper is from the Basic Grey Cappella range and I have added some Art Institute Glitter to both the paper and image. I have added a white organza ribbon and bow with a Princess crown charm dangling from it.

Paper Cutz Challenge 59 - Halloween but no black or orange

I have a DT card to show you today for the challenge over at Paper Cutz. the theme is Halloween, but you are asked not to use black or orange on your project.

I don't normally make Halloween cards and I sold my Tilda and Edwin stamps earlier this summer as I had hardly used them. This left me with a problem - what image to use. I found this digital image at Bugaboo Stamps - it's one of their freebies at the moment. I thought at least with this image I didn't have to use black or orange. I went with green and purple instead. The image has been coloured with Copics and I added some Glossy Accents to her shoes. Luckily I kept hold of a set of Hero Arts clear Halloween sentiment stamps. I went with a fun sentiment instead of just a simple 'Happy Halloween'. I used Magnolia backing paper and green textured cardstock from Papermania and finished the card off with a witches hat button and some purple ribbon.

Paper Cutz Challenge no 58 - Tags

Good morning fellow crafters. I have a tag to show you today for this week's challenge over at Paper Cutz Challenges.

I have inked my tag with Antique Linen Distress Ink and stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and Peeled Paint Distress Ink. When I had finished the design I inked the entire tag with an Embossing Distress Ink pad and added clear embossing powder. I tried to crack some of the embossing and inked the edges and cracks with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Southern Girls Challenge blog launches challenge 1 today!

Today is the first challenge over at Southern Girls and I am lucky enough to be a member of a very talented Design Team.

The theme for the first challenge is Anything Goes and we have a fab sponsor in Wink Wink Ink.

For this challenge I decided to decorate a notebook I bought a couple of months back.

(Sorry for the bad photo, but this was the best I managed.)

It originally had a picture of a cake on the front - very tempting! I took the book apart (it was spiral bound already) and covered the front and back covers with Basic Grey papers in Brown and pink. This is one of my favourite colour combos at the mo. I added some brown braid to the front to hide the join in my papers (big mistake!) Unfortunately when I came to punch the holes again with my Bind-It-All that bit was a little bit too bulky to fit easily. This means that the inside is slightly torn where it stuck in my Bind-It-All. I don't suppose it matters too much as it's only for personal use, but I'll bear it in mind next time! The letters are bare basics from Papermania that have been covered with Nutmeg Art Institute Glitter and then Glossy Accents. The image I have used is Little Bird from Wink Wink Ink which I coloured with my Copics. I added some of the brown braid and some pink and brown organza ribbon to the wire binding.

I am so excited! I just received my very first award! I was given it by my fellow new DT member at Paper Cutz, Lisa, who also has an awesome blog. You should totally check it out! When I first found out what this challenge was I thought 'Oh No'. I've never done tags or bookmarks!

I bought some manilla tags and inked it with Distress Inks. I have used a mixture of Personal Impressions and Kanban stamps, stamped with Distress Inks. I added an eyelet with my Crop-o-dile to tie in with the vintage theme.

Paper Cutz Challenge no 57 - Recipe

Today I have my first DT card for Paper Cutz Challenge. This week's challenge is a recipe - 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 colours.

My card uses papers by Tim Holtz and a Magnolia image - Fairy Dust Tilda. I coloured my image with copics and added a touch of Art Institute crystal glitter to the fairy dust on the image. I have used a piece of narrow lace as my ribbon, I tried to tie a bow in it but it wouldn't tie very well. I searched my stash and found 2 white flower buttons. I cut the back off them and added them to my card together with 1 paper rose. My 3 colours are white, pink and grey. I distressed the edges of my papers and added Kars rainbow white glitter glue. I don't usually add a sentiment to the front of my cards, but there was a space just begging for something so I added a 'Just because' sentiment.

Let's Ink It Up challenge 1 reminder

Just a quick reminder that there is still time to enter the first challenge over at Let's Ink It Up. The theme of the first challenge is Anything Goes with a twist that you must use the colour yellow somewhere on your project. You must use rubber or clear stamps as the main focal point - Digital images are not allowed. The blog runs on Sydney Australia time, but there is a clock on the blog showing the current time. Decorated Notebook

I bought 4 notebooks for £1 and decided to decorate one. I used paper and chipboard letters from Papermania and a Tilda image. I deocrated the chipboard letters with Mardi Gras Art Glitter and covered them with Anita's 3D Clear Gloss Finish to stop the glitter from coming off. I coloured Tilda with Copics and added some matching glitter to her bow and a touch of Crystal glitter to the frill on her sleeve. As this is going to be a working notebook I didn't want to put too many embellishments on the front so decided not to add any flowers and to keep it quite plain.

Tina Wenke mouse with cake multi-challenge card

My card today features this cute little mouse carrying a birthday cake by Tina Wenke. I have coloured it with Copics and added a touch of glitter to the candles. I also added some glitter glue to the edges of the image.

Let's Ink It Up Challenge 1 DT Project - Anything Goes .....

It's time for the first challenge over at Let's Ink It Up and I can now let you know that the challenge is an Anything Goes one, but the twist to this challenge is that you must use the colour Yellow somewhere on your project. You can make anything you want , it doesn't need to be a card.

It's not only the first challenge it's my first DT project too. This was not an easy challenge for me as I don't normally use yellow on my projects, so I hope you like it.

I have used lots of my favourite products on this card. My favourite stamp and papers by Magnolia and paper flowers and lots of glitter.

I have stamped Princess Tilda by Magnolia with tuxedo black memento ink and coloured her in with Copics. I added some crystal Glamour Dust to the image and cut it out. The papers I have used are by Magnolia and I have distressed the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink and my Tim Holtz distressing tool. I have added glitter glue to the edges of the paper. I added flowers which have also been inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink and highlighted with glitter glue. I added some string pearls to the small floral decoration at the top. The copics used are: E0000, E000, E00, E50, E51, E53, E55, R11, Y000, Y00, Y02.

I'm really pleased with the way the card has turned out and hope it provides you with some inspiration for this challenge. The rest of the DT have some inspirational projects too, why not pop over and visit their blogs - links in my sidebar.

Butterfly note cards

While I was cutting out some images last night I found these cut little butterflies from the Magnolia Spring stamp kit (the fairytale one). I cut them out with a circle nestie and coloured them with BG0000 and BG000 Copic sktech pens. I embossed some of the matching card with Birds & Swirls cuttlebug embossing folder. The blue card is from Papertrey Ink and I kept the layout simple. I just need to either make or find some envelopes that fit the cards.

No card from me yet today as I've been busy decorating. I've just spent the past 2 hours cutting images out with nesties ready to colour. I'm going to start working on some challenge entries ready for tomorrow.

I have a new watermark and signature and I can't wait to try out the watermark on my photos tomorrow. For now here's the new signiture. I got them both from Whimsy Stamps.

I actually have a card to show you today. I've been busy with DT projects for the new challenges over at Let's Ink It Up. We have some great themes coming up so watch this space.

When I saw these papers I just couldn't resist. They are from the Cappella range by Basic Grey. I bought just a couple of sheets and then couldn't bear to cut into them, so I ordered a 12" x 12" pack and a 6" x 6" pad. These papers are from the 6" x 6" and when they are gone I will be ordering more. I knew that I wanted to make a wedding card with them, so here it is.

I coloured the image with my Copics (but next time I might try it with Distress Inks) and I cut the image out with one of my Nesties.

I have used the sketch for this week's challenge over at Papertake Weekly and flipped it onto it's side. I added buttons and a bow to fit with the challenges at Stamptacular Sunday. I finally added some pearls to fit in with the challenge at Basic Grey.

Christmas Morning Tilda

I thought it was about time I showed this card I made last week. My camera has been out of commission for the past week, but I have it back now.

I stamped Christmas Morning Tilda with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured it using my ever faithful Copics. My papers are by My Mind's Eye and were distressed and inked with Distress Ink. I also inked around my image using Distress Ink. I added Stickles glitter glue to the edges of my papers and image and a touch of Crystal Glamour Dust to parts of the image. The sentiment is from Card Craft Plus and was originally white, I coloured it with my Distress Ink so that it would co-ordinate with the rest of the card. The flowers were sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist before being added to the card. I always send my cards in a greeting card box which I get from Card Craft Plus and you can just see it in the photo.

I can't believe that Let's Ink It Up has over 200 followers already and the challenges don't start until 5th September. The first challenge will run until the second challenge begins on 10th October. After this the challenges will be fortnightly and there are some exciting ideas for the challenges to come.

Don't forget that the challenge is to use your RUBBER stamps, not digi images. We want you to get you ink out and get stamping.

I can't wait to let you know about the first challenge, but that will have to wait until next month! If you need some inspiration, why not check you the rest of the Design Team's blogs (links in my sidebar). They truely are inspirational.

It's the summer hols and hubby is taking the day off tomorrow so we're taking the boys to the Sandcastle in Blackpool for the day.

Saturday I'll be doing day 2 of my Paediatric First Aid course. It's all day 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Very distressing card

My card that is.

I've tried something different again today. I've distressed my papers and am reasonably pleased with the effect. I've tried to use a sketch by Hanna, you really should check out her blog She is only 14 and her cards are amazing and she does her own sketches too.

I have used Loving Couple by Magnolia and coloured it with Copics. My papers for this card are by Magnolia and are from the Something old, Something New range. I have tried to keep my colours very similar except for a touch of pink to match Tilda's flowers. I have glittered the edges of my papers and my flowers.

Christmas in July

A christmas card from me today and it's not a Magnolia image!

I have used papers from Forever Friends that I bought last christmas. They are double sided with a solid colour on one side and a pattern on the other. This means I have only used 2 papers for this card. The image is from Buzzcraft and I bought the stamps in the sale at my local craft shop in the January sale and they have only just seen the ink pad. I have coloured the image with Copics and added some Glamour Dust for some sparkle. I don't usually use peel-offs anymore, but I thought it needed a small greeting on the front so used a gold 'Merry Christmas' peel-off. I also added some Kars gold gems.

This card fits in with the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp - Dotty, Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes and Stamptacular Sunday - Christmas in July.

Papertake Weekly - Tilda with Surfboard easel card

My card for today is an easel card featuring Tilda with Surfboard. I have used the sketch over at Papertake Weekly and I hope the sketch is still recognisable.

I have coloured Tilda with Copics and my papers are Linen Closet from DCWV again. I have added a touch of Glamour Dust to Tilda's surfboard. I have finished the card with some pearls, a pearl decoration, shell buttons and some paper roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment is a stamp by Inkadinkadoo and reads 'surf's up Let's PARTY' which I thought was perfect for this image.

Tilda with bike - Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge

My card today features Tilda with bike from Magnolia. I have coloured her with Copics and my papers are my new favourite Linen Closet from DCWV. I like these papers so much I bought 2 packs before I'd even used any! The colours are so lovely, half of them papers are glittered and they have a linen look to them. You may end up getting sick of seeing them before long! I have added some pink lace to the card to pick out the pink of the flowers. The lace came from Hobbycraft on a card with 4 other ribbons in the same colour. I bought all 6 colourways as they were Victorian colours and I thought they would come in handy.

My card fits into the theme over at Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge where you are asked to use lace on your card (hope this counts). I have also used the sketch from Simon Says Stamp Challenge, but I've already entered their challenge.

Simon Says Stamp challenge card - Magnolia Sea background

I've managed another card today, this time for the sketch challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Challenge. The sketch has been provided by Martine.

I have used the Sea Background stamp from the Magnolia Summer Stamp Club kit. I have coloured it with Copics and used papers from my Linen Closet Stack by DCWV. I added some Glamour Dust to the image and one of the backing papers. The Glamour Dust enabled me to create a finer line of glitter than using Stickles glitter glue. To finish the card I added a dolphin button and a Magnolia sentiment from the Summer Stamp Club kit.

Friday sketchers - Ballerina Tilda

My second card for today is for the challenge over at Friday Sketchers.

This weeks sketch is by Jeanette and looked quite simple for me.

I used papers from my new Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby paper pack (boy was it hard to bring myself to actually cut into them). The ribbon is from my stash and when it matched the colour of the dress I could not believe my luck. I'm a naughty crafter and like to colour images in at night and then struggle to find papers to co-ordinate with my images. I have coloured Ballerina Tilda in with Copics and added a touch of Glamour Dust to the image. The gems are from Papermania and the flowers are from Prima.

My card this morning shows Edwin ready to go to the party. He has his balloon and has put his best clothes on.

I have coloured him with Copics and my papers are from my new Linen Closet stack by DCWV. The checked paper is already glittered over the blue lines. I have added a sentiment from Craftwork Cards and kept the layout really simple as it's a male card. I usually struggle with male cards, but I'm really happy with this one .

Well, I've now finished work for the summer. The next 6 weeks will be spent tidying my loft, decorating my lounge and making cards (hopefully).

I've spent the day on a paediatric first aid course and will be doing the same next Saturday. My arms ache already from practicing CPR and we will be doing more next week.

Hopefully I will get a bit of cardmaking done later and I can show something tomorrow.

Just to let everyone know that Daniel is much better this morning and has gone to school. It's the last day of school and is 'toy day'. He wanted to take his presents in for his teachers too.

I'm off work today and finish tomorrow for the summer. I need to go to our Preschool Graduation tomorrow, but won't be working as such.

I'm hoping to be able to get together with a crafting friend for a bit of craft shopping and lunch today, but if not I'll just have to stay at home and play. I have papers and images shouting at me and feel at least one card on the way.

I bought some ready made easel cards yesterday and decided to use one of them for this card.

My papers are Ella Blue from GCD Studios, Tilda is coloured with copics and I have added some buttons. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I have added lots of Glamour Dust to everything. The crystal swirl is from Hero Arts and I've had it in my carft box for an absolute age. The sentiment is by Rachelle Anne Miller.

Don't you just love the english weather!?!

I live in the North West and last week they introduced a hosepipe ban. Trouble is it's done nothing but rain ever since. I think I am in danger of developing webbed feet. We have had so much rain today that the road I live on is in danger of giving way near the manhole at the bottom of the hill as the water has puched the surface of the road up because the drains can't cope with all the extra water.

Daniel has fallen asleep before his bedtime, but I don't want to move him from the settee in case I disturb him. If he doesn't stir before I'm ready to go to bed I may end up sleeping downstairs with him.

Took my little one to the doctors and he couldn't find anything wrong! Trouble is Daniel keeps going hot and then cold. Doctor took his temperature and it was normal, but the doctor said that Daniel felt hotter than his temperature reflected. At least Daniel is eating and drinking and a bit brighter than this morning.

I have managed to make a card, just need to get a good photo of it.

Last night my youngest said his neck was sore and when I took him to bed he was running a temperature.

He's still very hot this morning, so I'm waiting for the docs to open so I can ring for an appointment.

I should be back at work today, but will be staying at home to look after him.

Here are my first 2 cards using my new Magnolia Summer Stamp Club kit.

I have used Dangling Sea Tilda for the first card, coloured with copics. The papers are from an old Photo Stack from DCWV with lots of glitter glue and some paper flowers.

My second card uses Dangling Sea Edwin, coloured with copics. The papers are the same and the sentiment is from Papermania.

I'd like to enter them both into the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers as the theme this week is 'We are sailing..' and I thought that both images were suitable for the theme.

I have made a few cards over the weekend. I hope you like them.

My first card is being entered into One Stop Craft Challenges 'Monochromatic' challenge. I have used my favourite Tilda for this card - Princess Tilda and coloured her with copics. The paper is from My Mind's Eye and came free with a magazine. I have added some lace and flowers as well as gems and a sentiment from Papermania.

My next card is made using a stamp I received free from Magnolia-licious when I placed an order with them some time ago. I'm not sure of her name, but I call her Violin Tilda, or whether she is for sale anywhere. I have coloured her with copics and used papers by Magnolia, adding some gems, flowers and a sentiment from Papermania.

I used Sweet Tilda for this card. I have coloured her with copics again and the paper is by My Mind's Eye. I have added a paper doily behind the image and decorated the edge with flowers. I have added a few gems and another sentiment from Papermania.

My last card is my first christmas card. I have used my new Christmas Morning Tilda and paper by Basic Grey. I have added glitter from Papermania, gems and paper flowers.

Miss Anya and Princess Tilda cards

I made the Miss Anya card last night, just needed to find a sentiment today. I went for a Thank You sentiment from the Confetti wedding range (it's meant for wedding stationery, but I thought it would be OK on a card).

The papers are from a new pad of My Mind's Eye papers I bought called La Paperie, the flowers are from my new stash from Wildorchidcrafts and I have used lots of glitter glue again. Miss Anya is coloured with copics.

My OH has been out all night and I managed to make two Princess Tilda cards. I have used papers from the same My Mind's Eye pad and more flowers from my Wildorchidcrafts stash. I have used my copics to colour in Tilda and have used Glamour Dust in Crystal on her tiara, dress, gloves and socks. I added yet more glitter glue to the flowers for even more sparkle.

I think that I have managed to create two different cards using the same papers and I hope you agree.

I'll be back hopefully over the weekend with even more.

I have three cards to show today. I am entering the challenge over at Just Magnolia this week where the theme is Anything Goes. The challenge over at Charisma Cardz Challenge is Girly with Flowers, so these cards all fit with that too.

The first is an image my friend Caroline sent me. I coloured her using my copics and used some old My Mind's Eye papers. The flowers are from Wildorchidcrafts and I have added lots of glitter glue.

This next card uses some of my new Rose Garden papes together with some free papers from a magazine (think they may be My Mind's Eye ones). Tilda is again coloured with copics, flowers from Wildorcidcrafts, pin from stash and lots of glitter glue again.

My last card for today is Princess Tilda again. I just love her. I have coloured her with copics again. The papers are my new My Mind's Eye papers and the flowers are from Wildorchidcrafts again (I got a big box of goodies from them this week....... Was naughty and spent about £50 with them!) The crystal branch was from the wedding section at Hobbycraft and I have added some pearls from my stash. Lots of glitter glue again too.

I have really enjoyed making these cards this week and will be back with more soon.

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time... there was a little girl called Tilda who looked longingly from her window at a little boy called Edwin who had dressed up as Robin Hood.

This is the story behind my card for today (well I made it yesterday really!). I made an 8" x 8" card from A3 card so I had plenty of room to work on. I already had envelopes and cello bags to fit from Cardcraft Plus.

The papers are from Magnolia, the images and sentiment are from the Magnolia Spring kit which were coloured with my Copic markers, and the embellishments were from my stash. I punched some leaves and flowers from coordinating papers to frame the window so it looks like there is a plant growing round it. I added lots of Stickles glitter glue in a lovely pale blue called Waterfall.

I'm not sure if this card is lacking something or whether it's just because I used a larger card. I hope you like it, I will be making more this size soon.

I actually made this card yesterday, but didn't get the chance to post it on here.

I used my new Unwrapping Tilda stamp from Magnolia and coloured here with my Copics. The papers are by Basic Grey and the paper doily I got from eBay (you may see a few cards with doilies on as I bought a pack of 250!) The flowers, pearls and greeting are all from my stash. I have also added lots of glitter glue to the flowers.

I received a couple of new Tilda stamps at the weekend and have made my first card this morning. The card is made using Princess Tilda from Magnolia.

I coloured my image using some of my new Copic markers and then found these papers from the Basic Grey Porcelain range lurking in my stash. The flowers are from my stash, the larger ones I coloured with my Copics to match the image and the centres are pearl brads from Papermania. The sentiment is a stamp from Rachelle Anne Miller that I stamped with Tea Dye Distress ink. I added lots of glitter glue and coloured some pealrs with my Copics to match, although I did leave a couple uncoloured in the corners. The leaves are punched from white card using my Ash leaf punch by http://www.l-em.com/.

Spring Stepping Storage Box

I decided I needed a storage box so made one using my new Spring Stepping stamp from Whimsy.

I used Core'dinations cardstock and made an 8' x 8' box which is 2' deep. The paper is by Basic Grey and is from the Wisteria range. I have edged the backing paper with string pearls and I used a piece of White Washed card to mount my stamped image onto. The image is coloured with my Promarkers and I put some clear dew drops onto the box too.

There is another DT call out for Whiff of Joy. The recipe is to use 1 cardstock, 2 design papers, 1 ribbon and 1 button. For my card I have used Henry hugging heart as my image and he has been coloured with my Copics. I have used some red cardstock and 2 papers from the new V&A paper pack by Papermania. The ribbon is actually ricrac and came from a pack of victorian print ribbons from Hobbycraft and the button I got from eBay.

Whiff of Joy Challenge Card

While blog hopping earlier I was inspired by Jane's DT card for the Whiff of Joy challenge which is to create an easel card this week. After I had got my youngest to bed I sat down in the lounge and made my entry for this week's challenge (a rare occurance lately).

I used my new Bo Bunny papers and Willow Dressing from Whiff of Joy. I spent some of this morning searching for colouring tutorials on YouTube and found some great ones for Copics. I don't have many Copics, since I mainly use Promarkers, but I was impressed and went on the hunt for more Copics today. Needless to say I found some and used them to colour my image (except for the skin which I used my Promarkers for). I must admit to being impressed with the results I have acheived just from watching a few tutorials. I can see Copics quickly becoming another must-have!

City Girls cards

My new City Girls stamps arrived yesterday from Whiff of Joy and I couldn't wait to ink them up. I sat there last night, put them onto easi-mount, cut them out and then inked them up. I used Stazon ink on watercolour card and coloured them with my Distress inks.

For this card I decided to make it A5, a bit different for me as most of cards are usually square. I used papers from the Papermania Capsule collection and some Coredinations cardstock. I stamped some swirls from Whiff of Joy onto the edges of the cardstock in Mustard Seed distress ink. I stamped onto scrap paper twice before stamping onto the cardstock to get a pale effect and punched the bottom edge with my Doily Lace punch by Martha Stewart. The image is Willow with Champagne coloured with distress inks. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are made using an ash leaf punch. The ribbon is from a box of sheer ribbons I got from Create and Craft over 12 months back. The greeting is from the new Pink Parfait Forever Friends range.

This card I kept quite simple, using no backing paper at all. I used my new Heart Around the Page punches by Martha Stewart to punch the corners of the card front and the yellow Coredinations cardstock. I used some yellow polka dot ribbon behind the image of Willow Dressing Up. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves have been made using my ash leaf punch again.

This card is another A5 one. I have used papers from the Clare Curd Big One from Papermania. I have also used some Coredinations cardstock behind the image of Dancing Willow. I used another of my Martha Stewart Around the Page punches along the edge of one of the papers and added flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The leaves are again made using my ash leaf punch. I haven't added a sentiment yet, but have left room below the image for one when I decide what I want to use.

I absolutely love these images and think that they will work for most ages.

I will have more cards to show tomorrow if I get the chance to finish them off.

Distress inks

I have been playing with my distress inks and am quite happy with the results I am getting when colouring my images. I have found some 280gsm watercolour card at my local craft shop, Handmade Heaven, and this is fantastic for watercolouring on. Heather doesn't have it on her website at the moment, but had plenty in the shop today.

I have been busy colouring my images and will make some cards with them tomorrow. There may be one or two similar cards when I make them as the images are all similar. I have used some of my Whiff of Joy stamps including some from the baby collection and the Guardian Angels collection.

I can't wait to stamp some of my other stamps on the watercolour card and get colouring with my distress inks. This may soon become my favourite colouring method overtaking my promarkers.

Sepia Gorjuss Girl

I made this card for a challenge over on the Do Crafts website.

I had to use stripey paper and a handmade flower embellishment.

I tried to follow the tutorial over at Passion for Promarkers from last week (need more practice, but quite pleased for a first attempt).
The paper is from My Mind's Eye and the flower embellishment is a decoupage one to match the papers. It's quite plain compared to the cards I've made recently so I'm not too sure about it really. I love the sepia effect, but not the card.

I can't believe that it's already week 3 of 4 as being a guest designer over at Passion for Promarkers. The theme this week is Girls, Girls, Girls and you need to use an image of a girl on your entry, but you can use any colours you want to.

The sponsor this week is Letraset and the prize is a pack of 5 promarkers.

I decided to use a Gorguss Girl image and my new Capsule Collection papers. I coloured the image using my Promarkers (obviously!) and the flowers and pearls are from my stash.

I'm quite please with the card, especially as I had almost forgotten to make it. I've been really busy this week with homework for college. Hopefully I'll find more time to make next week's card (it'll be my last one).

First attempt at colouring with distress ink

I finally gave in yesterday and bought some distress ink pads. I have been reluctant to try them as I love my Promarkers so much, but I also love the effects people create using distress ink.

I spent last night colouring in some images as practice.

What do you think? Are they acceptable to use on cards? I might try one of them tonight and see how it looks.

I have made a card for a challenge on the Do Crafts website. The challenge was for a Tilda card, using ribbon in a different way and at least 2 flowers. You could use any colours and the card could be for any occasion.

The theme this week over at Simon Says Stamp is Hot Chocolate/Pink and Brown. They are also on the look out for 2 new members of the Design Team so I may enter this card in that too. You never know 2010 may be my year!

I knew what image I was going to use straight away as it's perfect for the job. This is Willow with hot chocolate and I have sat her in Willow's chair, both from Whiff of Joy. The papers are a combination of Basic Grey and Papermania and the flowers are from my stash. I coloured the image with my Promarkers.

Passion for Promarkers challenge 34 GDT card

It's time for a new challenge at Passion for Promarkers.

As Guest Designer over at Passion for Promarkers I was given the opportunity to choose the colours for this weeks challenge. My colours are Cool Aqua and Cocoa and I decided to try my hand at making an easel card.

I am really pleased with this card, so here it is.

The papers are by Papermania and come from the Regency and Blueberry Hill ranges.
The images and sentiment are both by Magnolia.
I used the following Promarkers to colour the image:Dusky pink and Almond for skin,
Cinnamon, Cocoa and Henna for the hair,
Cool aqua, Pastel pink and Moss for the clothes and Cocoa for the piano. I used a Letraset finemarker for the black keys.

Surfer Edwin and the new Capsule Collection

I couldn't find a challenge I wanted to play along with when I looked earlier, so I made this card instead.

I used the new Sunshine Capsule Collection from Do Crafts, image and sentiment by Magnolia and my Promakers to colour in. I thought it looked bright and cheerful, a real change from all this snow.

Just another Manic Monday........

Both schools are open again now, despite the snow, so this morning was a little manic.

I started by taking my eldest to my friend's house at 8am for his lift to high school. Her husband passes school on his way to work so takes Ben, his next door neighbours and his eldest daughter. I came home and got ready to take Daniel to primary and me off to college. It was a little dodgy going to primary school, but getting to college was ok. All this by 9.30am.

2 hours at college and I was back on the roads. I decided that I fancied a trip to The Range in Blackburn for the new Do Crafts goody bag. Well you know how it is....

I didn't just buy the goody bag. I also bought the paper, ribbon and embellishment sets in the other co-ordinating colours (red, black, aqua and purple) and some christmas stamps which were in the sale (it's never too early to buy christmas stash is it?) and the new rose stamps they have brought out for the card appeal.

I now need to think about doing my homework, but crafting seems alot more appealing, off to search for some challenges to take part in. Think I'll do some homework tomorrow instead.

Anyone for Anya - That's Charming!

The challenge over at Anyone for Anya this week is charms. The rules are to use a stamp by The Greeting Farm and to include a charm.

I knew that I had a crown charm with the word 'princess' on it so Princess Anya seemed the logical choice. The paper is from My Mind's Eye and the card and some of the flowers were spray with Starfish Glimmer Mist (the paler flowers). Image was coloured with promarkers and the flowers and gems are from my stash.

Whiff of Joy challenge card

The challenge over at Whiff of Joy challenges this week is to use the colours Aqua and Red.

I haven't entered a challenge for months and decided that 2010 is the year to enter more challenges, so here goes.

I managed to get hold of the Winter stamo kit from Whiff of Joy and couldn't resist this image, which is coloured using my Promarkers. The sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly.

The papers I have used are by My Mind's Eye and the flowers are from my stash.

Back to work in the snow

Well my eldest is back at school today and I'm back at work after the christmas break. Primary school is closed until next week, so my youngest came to work with me today. Luckily I work at a nursery so it's not a huge problem having to take him too. He's done some fantastic pictures today (he's 7 next month and loves drawing).

I didn't finish the calendar I had started on Tuesday, but did make my card for next week as guest designer over at Passion for Promarkers. Sorry I can't show you until Tuesday, but I have to say that I am really pleased with this one (just as well as I have chosen the colours for next week).

I'm off to try a bit of crafting soon, so I'll say bye for now.

No school again today

Good morning crafty friends.

I got up early this morning to check the 2 school websites and no surprise, they are both closed! I'm going to let the boys stay in bed this morning and after a large cup of tea to warm me up, will start to take the christmas tree down and get it back in the loft.

Hopefully by lunchtime everything will be put away and I can then finish the calendar I started to make last night (hopefully photo later today).

I'll be back later on to update you all on the weather.

Snowed in!

No cards yet today, but what a day it's been. Woke up this morning to quite thick snow (almost a couple of inches). I rang high school this morning to see whether they were open as it was my eldest's first day back today. They were.....

until lunchtime! 2 horrible journeys to high school for me today as no school bus for the journey home.

Primary school was closed so had my youngest at home all day. We live at the top of quite a steep hill and getting down this morning was OK. Getting back up is another matter.

My car is parked in the pub car park down at the bottom of the hill. My husband has parked there too. In fact he's just come back from seeing whether he could move the car. The neighbours have cleared the snow from the raod and used a full box of grit! The problem was getting off the pub car park.

Both cars are still on the car park!!

I've manged to do most of my homework for college today, so it hasn't been an unproductive day. Just one piece to finish, but it's about 2 thirds done already. Think I'll try some cardmaking later as my brain hurts now.

Passion for Promarkers GDT card

I am delighted to announce that I am Guest Designer this month over at Passion for Promarkers and the theme for this week is Love/Valentine and Michele has set a sketch for this week's challenge and you can use any colours of Promarkers you wish.

Well here it is...

my first GDT card. I was quite happy with the colours I had chosen thinking that they matched the papers ok, until I put the card together. I promise to try harder next week!

My papers are by Basic Grey from the Sultry range and I used some green card to mat one of the patterned papers onto. The image I chose to use is by Mo Manning called Jack and Ginger which I think it's fab.

As you can probably gather I used my fabulous promarkers to colour the image.
Skin: Dusky pink and almond
Hair: Warm grey 1, 3 and 5
Clothes: marsh green, olive green, moss, burnt umber, chestnut, walnut, coral, antique pink, dusky rose and maroon

Happy New Year

Happy New Year one and all. I know I'm a bit late, but things have been a bit hectic here over the Christmas holidays. I've had the boys at home (all 3, including my husband).

I've done a silly thing and deleted all of my old posts by mistake, so new year means a new start, on here at least.

I start my month as a guest designer over on Passion for Promarkers this week and am desperately trying to finish my card today as I'm back at college tomorrow morning.
